What is CPS? How do they work? When should I call them and what happens if I do? What about confidentiality?

Survivors are involved in many different systems including children services. To effectively advocate in these situations, you need up-to-date knowledge and additional skills to navigate the complex child welfare system. Come to learn about CPS and develop a deeper understanding of the child welfare system. This training provides a framework of critical thinking for advocacy before, during, and after a report to children services. You will also learn guiding principles for your work on behalf of system-involved families. Information about ODVN’s Relocation Assistance Program for survivors of domestic violence/sexual assault and stalking who need to relocate for safety purposes will be presented.
